Atlas

Info and credits

‘Atlas’ is Yuval Sharon’s interpretation of composer Meredith Monk’s 1991 opera. It tells the story of a young girl’s journey to the four corners of the world and beyond. Es Devlin designed the set which takes on a 36-foot-diameter globe, singers are revealed through openings and windows in the structure. Luke Halls Studio designed the projection which is mapped onto the globe, symbolising themes such as travel and exploration. The globe was treated to take the audience on a transformative journey.
