Epic Iran
Luke Halls Studio was commissioned by the V&A museum and Gort Scott to design bespoke video installations for the Epic Iran exhibit.
‘Land of Iran’, the entrance film, is a projection mapped montage of distinct and beautiful Iranian landscapes. LHS collaborated with DOP Mohammadreza Domiri Ganji and aerial photographer Reza Nazemi to shoot drone footage across Iran for this piece.
‘Splendour of Persepolis’ is a projection mapped cast of the western façade of the west staircase at the Palace of Darius, Persepolis. Where we brought the original facade’s stone texture back to life and painted it with projection restoring it to it’s original colourful glory.
For ‘Royal Patronage’, LHS designed a dome projection installation, taking the V&A’s own collection of colourful painting ‘slices’ traced from decorative tilework of various buildings in Isfahan, Iran. Taking the slices and piecing them together to create the full dome pattern. Using animation to inform viewer’s of the way these dome tiles are designed and architecture constructed.
